NEW DELHI: Isis India head and an affiliate have been arrested in Assam’s Dhubri district on Wednesday after they crossed over from Bangladesh, Assam Police reported.
In response to Pranabjyoti Goswami, the Assam Police chief public relations officer, they have been apprehended within the Dharmasala space by the Particular Process Power (STF) following a tip-off. The suspects have been later transported to the STF workplace in Guwahati for additional proceedings.
“The identification of each of them was ascertained and it’s discovered that accused Haris Farooqi, alias Harish Ajmal Farukhi of Chakrata, Dehradun, is the top of Isis in India,” he added.
